What Parafraze.gg handles

Parafraze.gg processes the nickname you choose, your room membership, typed guesses, team choices, and game actions so everyone in the room can play together in real time. When you launch Parafraze.gg as a Discord Activity, it also receives your Discord user ID, display name, profile image, and available avatar decoration so it can identify you inside that Activity. An account is optional for ordinary gameplay.

Optional accounts and memberships

If you sign in, Parafraze.gg stores your Discord user ID, username, display name, and profile image to maintain your account. If you link Patreon, it also stores your Patreon user ID, membership status, entitled tier, and relevant payment-status information supplied by Patreon. OAuth access tokens are used during authorization but are not written to the game database.

If your membership includes custom word lists, the service stores the list names, submitted words, saved scoring settings, and word performance needed to provide that feature.

Public supporter recognition is off by default. If you enable it, your Discord display name, profile image, and current supporter tier appear on the public Support page until you disable the setting or your eligible membership ends.

Gameplay records

Active room details, Discord Activity sessions, and guess history are kept in server memory while needed. Rooms close automatically after inactivity. Parafraze.gg may retain game results and aggregate word-performance statistics to balance scoring and improve future games; these records are not player profiles.

Browser storage

Your browser stores room rejoining credentials, sound preference, and mini-board preference in local storage. Optional accounts use a secure sign-in cookie described in the Cookie Policy. You can remove browser data at any time through your browser’s settings.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, Parafraze.gg processes the name, email address, subject, and message you provide to respond to you. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which processes information under Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Visibility and sharing

People in your room can see your nickname or Discord display name, profile image, team, status, and game activity. Anyone with an active invite code—or access to the same launched Discord Activity—may enter the room, so share invites carefully. Discord and Patreon process information under their own privacy policies when you use their sign-in or membership services. Parafraze.gg does not sell personal information and does not use advertising or third-party analytics.

Technical records

Basic request information may appear in server logs for security, troubleshooting, and reliable operation. This can include an IP address, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps.
